If it wasn’t obvious, the quarterback who will demand all the attention at the 2019 NFL Combine is Oklahoma signal caller and Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray.

Murray’s combine showing provides intrigue at every level, from his 40-yard dash time, to his agility drills, to his bench reps, to his weigh-in and height measurement. People want answers about Murray, the prospect who is so different from those who came before him. And on Wednesday, they’ll try to get as many as they can.

Murray should blow away the 40-yard dash and the throwing drills. His speed is rumored to be well below 4.40, and as a thrower, Murray is just as accurate as Baker Mayfield was coming out last year.

The biggest question mark for Murray at the combine will be his measurements, even if it shouldn’t be. Many teams in the NFL still favor the prototypical NFL quarterback mold (at least 6-foot-3, 220), and although Murray’s height, which figures to loom around 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-10, might obstruct throwing lanes at the next level, he showed in college that he has the speed and contact avoidance to compensate for that.

Still, teams may need more convincing. And if Murray measures in at over 5-foot-10, he could be a top five lock in the NFL Draft. This would undoubtedly change the flow of the draft up to the Redskins pick, and it could modify their philosophy entirely on draft day.
