The most common knock on Boise State’s Brett Rypien is that, while he’s one of the most accurate passers in the 2019 NFL Draft, he’s physically limited, both from an athleticism standpoint and an arm strength standpoint.

Rypien has a chance to prove people wrong this week.

The hype train for Rypien will only travel so far, but Rypien can command the excitement with a solid NFL Combine performance. The biggest thing for Rypien isn’t just the testing, but the throwing drills themselves. Labeled as one of the weaker arms in the 2019 NFL Draft, Rypien’s job today is to disprove that theory.

Rypien has the smarts and the accuracy to otherwise break into the top five of the 2019 quarterback class, and although it’s very subjective and varies from person to person, I do have Rypien as QB4, ahead of Daniel Jones for now. He has a polish that is unique among most rookies this year, and he can show that at the NFL Combine.
