Redskins: 1 free agent to avoid at every position in 2019 offseason
The Washington Redskins have to make careful choices in free agency. Here’s a look at one free agent to avoid at each position.
Free agency is less than a month away. Soon, NFL teams will be looking to patch their weaknesses and find some quality players to add to their rosters. At the same time, teams will be thinking about compensatory picks for the 2020 NFL Draft, and that could cause some bigger names to be on the move.
The Washington Redskins are going to be a top team to watch this offseason. They are looking for an answer at quarterback, so they will be tied to some of the big free agent names at the position, though their funds are limited. The team also needs upgrades at pretty much every position on the roster with the exception of running back and interior defensive line. And even still, they could add players at those positions.
That said, there are still some free agents that don’t make sense for the Redskins. This free agent class has some quality depth, but there are players that the team will need to avoid in order to find future success.
There are a variety of reasons that these potential free agents don’t make sense for the Redskins. Age, injury concerns, lack of need, and poor scheme fit are among the most prominent. It will be interesting to see what the Redskins do in free agency. But, for now, here’s a look at one player at each position that they should avoid.
