NFL Mock Draft 2.0: Redskins end up with a first-round quarterback, go defense in Round 2
The Eagles have a very good offensive line, but they may soon have a hole at one of the tackle positions. Jason Peters just turned 37 and has been struggling with injuries in recent seasons. For that reason, it will be difficult to trust him moving forward.
The Eagles have a solid swing tackle in Halapoulivaati Vaitai, but he hasn’t been particularly successful when plugged into the starting lineup. And while Jordan Mailata is a promising prospect, the team can’t trust the former rugby player as a potential top option just yet.
Enter Greg Little. The Ole Miss product had an up-and-down college career, but he has the frame needed to be a solid blocker at the next level (6-foot-6, 325 pounds). He would create some competition at the offensive tackle position at the very least and he would be a solid developmental piece for the Eagles.
Considering that the Eagles’ biggest needs are at tackle, receiver, and at corner, it makes sense to grab the top available player. One could argue that either A.J. or Marquise Brown would fit the bill at receiver, but they can afford to wait on the position in a deep class. Little is one of the few remaining starter candidates at tackle, so grabbing him now makes sense.
