LSU. Greedy Williams. 24. player. 28. . Cornerback

The Raiders added help for their pass rush earlier. Now, they look to add to their secondary, and Greedy Williams is arguably the best player on the board.

Williams had a very good college career at LSU and logged eight interceptions over the course of the past two seasons. He is a very good playmaker and SEC teams had a tremendously difficult time throwing against him.

In an early-January Redskins big board, our own Matt Valdovinos spoke highly of Williams and ranked him as the top defensive player that Washington should consider. Here’s what he said at the time.

More from Riggo's Rag

"Williams has the true makings of a shutdown cornerback. He’s someone who eliminates an opposing No. 1 receiver and makes big plays in big games. Williams has that talent. Williams has immense upside too, similar to that of 2013 Richard Sherman, or prime-time Deion Sanders. He is 6-foot-3, has long arms, and is a great athlete, Williams will shine in the NFL. Unfortunately I have worries about his mindset and if failing early in his career will set him back forever. For that reason, he’s a true “boom or bust” prospect."

While Williams is the third corner off the board in this mock, the race for the top spot in that group is still certainly up for grabs, and the results could change at some point in the near future. For now, Williams is a great fit in Oakland where he would make a fantastic fit across from Gareon Conley. Those two could do a lot to improve the Raiders’ defense and make their lack of pass rush less of a problem.
