Mid/Late-Round Prospects

CB Trayvon Mullen, Clemson. Mullen could end up being a second-round pick, but right now he’s looking like an early third-round pick. He has a great skill set, but his production during his junior year hasn’t been as strong as his performance was the previous year. Still, he could end up being a starter whenever and wherever he is picked, making him an intriguing option for the ‘Skins.

OLB Anfernee Jenkins, Alabama. Injuries have knocked Jennings out of key contests in the past, but he has excellent length and demonstrated solid pass-rushing ability in 2018. He could be a good rotational pickup to work in conjunction with fellow Crimson Tide alumnus Ryan Anderson (if Preston Smith doesn’t re-sign in free agency).

RB Joshua Jacobs, Alabama. Jacobs really started to come on at the end of the year and had 11 rushing TDs on just 109 carries this year. He can be a punishing runner, and as a mid-round pick, he would be a nice complement to Guice. Again, this would only be if Peterson left the team in free agency, but Jacobs could end up being an excellent value pick in the middle rounds.

More from Commanders News

LB Kendall Joseph, Clemson. Joseph is a solid linebacker who has amassed 278 tackles in the past three seasons. His experience should make him a great backup at the very least, and he could be a functional starter in the NFL.

WR Hunter Renfrow, Clemson. Renfrow is a solid, albeit undersized, slot receiver with sure hands. He could be added in the later rounds as competition for Trey Quinn if Jamison Crowder departs via free agency.

G Lester Cotton, Alabama. Cotton is a 6-foot-4, 319-pound guard that has played well at Alabama. He could get late round consideration. It’s also notable that if Cotton’s teammate, C Ross Pierschbacher, declares, Pierschbacher would get mid-round consideration as a potential solution at left guard for the ‘Skins.
