No. 4 – Redskins must keep the Jaguars pass rush off Johnson

This is going to be a tough task this week given all the injuries along the offensive line and the amount of talent that the Jaguars have along the defensive line. They are a veteran group and a talented one led by Calais Campbell. He can and has taken over games by himself before.

On top of Campbell, both Malik Jackson and Yannick Ngakoue made the Pro Bowl last year. Josh Johnson is athletic, and that can negate some of that ferocious pass rush, but only so much. He must have a clean pocket.

The Jaguars also have one of the best cornerback duos in Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye, so it is not going to be easy as it sounds for Johnson to pick a target, especially with his options on the outside.

After Johnson replaced Sanchez in the last game, he showed that he still had a basic understanding of the offense, and that can help when going through progressions, as Sanchez looked hesitant at times. Johnson must be quick and decisive with his throws and know when to break the pocket and extend the play with his legs if the pocket collapses. If the rush gets to Johnson and he cannot get anything going, it is going to be tough to win this game.
