The Washington Redskins continue to get thinner as the season goes along. They will be without several starters against the Jaguars in Week 15.

It’s no surprise that the Redskins have a lengthy injury report at this point in the season. The squad has endured countless problems at every position, and they have a loaded roster on Injured Reserve, too. This week, they are set to start their fourth different QB of the year. That should tell everyone exactly what they need to know about the health of the team.

According to Matthew Paras of The Washington Times, the Redskins have already declared a handful of players out for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. Colt McCoy, Jordan Reed, Tony Bergstrom, and Ryan Anderson will not play, and none of the absences are too surprising. McCoy, of course, is still on the active roster as there is an outside chance that he could return from his broken leg if the team makes the playoffs. But he seems highly unlikely to play again this season.

Elsewhere, the team has listed a plethora of players as questionable, including Josh Doctson, Ty Nsekhe, Morgan Moses, Montae Nicholson, Chris Thompson, and Matt Ioannidis. And another injury of note: long snapper Nick Sundberg is dealing with a back injury, so the team is working out long snappers just to play it safe.

As of right now, it seems that most of the questionable players will suit up. Ioannidis has been dealing with the shin injury in recent weeks, but he has been playing. He has mostly been held out of practice for the sake of maintenance.

Meanwhile, Doctson is still technically in the NFL concussion protocol, but he did return to the practice field on Friday. If he is cleared by Sunday, which is expected as of now, he will have a chance to play in a tough matchup against Jalen Ramsey and the Jaguars defense.

As for the rest, there isn’t much concern, though the players dealing with illnesses, Nicholson and Thompson, could be game-time decisions. And if the team signs a long snapper, that should ensure that Sundberg will be out on Sunday.

Regarding the players that are already out, it seems that Vernon Davis will step into the top tight end role with the Redskins offense with Reed out. Davis still has some juice left, so he should be a fine replacement and could be productive against a Jaguars defense that has only been mediocre against TEs.

Meanwhile, Luke Bowanko will get a chance to start at right guard with Bergstrom out. Last week, the team went with Austin Howard, but that seemed to be a big mistake, as Howard just didn’t look good when in action. And at rush linebacker, Pernell McPhee and Marcus Smith will take the snaps that normally belong to Anderson.

We’ll see if anything changes in the coming days for the Redskins. For now, they just appear to be very banged up, and we’ll see what they can do as they limp to the finish line.
