In the final stretch of the season, different Redskins players get the spotlight.

At 6-7, the Washington Redskins still have an outside shot at lucking into the 2018 NFL playoffs. The Vikings are reeling after the firing of their offensive coordinator, the Panthers are in the midst of a similar losing streak, and the Packers have their own unique problems. Make no mistake; the Redskins can still get in the playoffs. That is, if you’re an unabashed optimist.

If you’re a realist, you’ve seen what the team has done over the past few weeks, with an offensive line in shambles and a quarterback room that resembles a toll booth. In their last six games, they’ve accrued five losses, losing by a combined 71 points in that span. Their last losing effort (it’s hard to call it an “effort” at all) featured a 40-0 opening run by the 5-8 New York Giants. Unsurprisingly, locker room morale is at an all-time low, it seems.

So optimists, you’ll forgive the realists if they’re a bit… skeptical.

That said, the unlikeliness of the team’s playoff hopes shouldn’t keep the fans from watching. With the season slipping away, along with starters on both sides of the ball, we’ll get to see younger players out on the field. Players with potential. And players who could have a hand in changing the chemistry for the better in the near future. Here are five of those players.
