What appeared to be a promising season has been derailed by injuries. Can the Redskins still finish strong and steal a playoff spot?

Coming off another crushing loss, this time on Monday night to their division rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Washington Redskins return to FedEx Field with their playoff hopes appearing to have been crushed.

For a second time in as many weeks, the Redskins watched their starting quarterback go down with a broken leg, as Colt McCoy appears to be done for the season. On top of the injuries, the defense had another forgetful outing. They now find themselves on the outside looking in.

After beating the New York Giants at the Meadowlands 20-13 and moving to 5-2 on the season, the Washington Redskins appeared to be in the midst of a potentially magical season. However, after a slew of injuries and a three-game losing streak, they now find themselves back at .500, sitting at 6-6 and a half game back in the wild-card standings.

While making the playoffs now seems like an outside shot, there is still a quarter of the season left and anything can happen. If the Redskins want to win and Sunday and stay in playoff contention, here are five keys to victory.
