Potential first-round options

Justin Herbert, Oregon.  Most draft specialists place him as the No. 1 prospect, but he has inconsistencies with his game. He’s not a good value pick early in the draft, but that will not stop a couple of teams from making him a very early pick.  He could return to Oregon for another season as well.

Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State. Haskins has shined this season and has stepped up to be a solid team leader.  He can make all the throws and possesses prototypical NFL size for a quarterback.  He is a tad slow, but has good pocket awareness and progresses through all of his reads like a seasoned pro.

Haskins was recently mocked to the Redskins in Round 1 by FanSided’s Brad Weiss. Read what he had to say about him here.

Drew Lock, Missouri. Lock was smart to return for his senior season.  It helped his stock, but he still has a second-round skill set at best. However, it seems possible — if not, probable — that a QB-needy team will reach for him in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Lock is not a vocal team leader and has drawn comparisons to Eli Manning, Alex Smith, and Jay Cutler.

Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News recently mocked Lock to the Redskins with the 18th overall pick in his mock draft. Check out Iyer’s analysis of that pick here.
