Redskins vs. Giants, part two: Matchups, score prediction, and more

Redskins offense vs. Giants defense
If you look back at Mark Sanchez‘s game logs, throughout his career, you’ll find that the narrative surrounding the former first-round pick isn’t entirely accurate.
Sanchez is one of the select few sports figures in the NFL who is relentlessly ridiculed for past blunders and poor play. Some of that negative attention is warranted; Sanchez was never more than a decent starter, and he always displayed irreconcilable flaws with accuracy.
That said, Sanchez was also inconsistent in past years. Unpredictable. One week, he’d throw for 150 yards and three interceptions. The next? 300 yards and two touchdowns. Perhaps with more time, the decent version of Sanchez, the one overshadowed by the memory of the Butt Fumble and expectations that were never reached, can come out, and help the Redskins along.
Sanchez is the key to the Redskins’ offense now, as awful as that might sound. With no offensive line, Adrian Peterson can’t be counted on to produce consistently, and the zone run game, once a masterful art for players like Brandon Scherff and Shawn Lauvao, is a disaster with the current mix of second and third-stringers.
The offense lives and dies with Sanchez, as crazy as that sounds. Against an underwhelming Giants defense, he has a chance to quiet his many doubters this week. But that has never been easy for Sanchez. Never.
