With four games left in the season, the Redskins have a choice to make, even if they might not know it.

It’s become clear, after the team’s three-game losing streak, that, despite still being in the thick of the playoff race, the Washington Redskins will not be able to compete for a playoff spot. The roster is depleted. They’re down to their third quarterback. And the coaches are incapable of elevating their respective units.

Thus, an intriguing choice emerges for the decision makers of the franchise. Do they limp ahead anyway, doing whatever they can to win, however they can, in a futile attempt to extend the team’s playoff hopes that were so quickly dashed? Or do they accept defeat, pencil in a record of 6-10, and use the last four games not to win, but to evaluate, and stock up on a ordinance of knowledge for the offseason.

As much as it may disappoint, we may already know the answer.

The Redskins will try to win. But winning, even against the lowly Giants, will not be nearly as easy as it once was. Six weeks later, how do the Washington Redskins match up with their division rivals?
