The Redskins are still right in the playoff mix eleven games into the season. Can they gear up for a playoff push?

The Washington Redskins travel to Lincoln Financial Field for a pivotal Monday Night game against the Philadelphia Eagles this week. The Eagles were left for dead after a 48-7 beat down by the New Orleans Saints a few weeks ago, but made a big comeback to steal one against the New York Giants last Sunday to move to 5-6 on the year. Now, they’re right behind Washington in the division.

The Redskins are currently 6-5 on the season, but are behind the Cowboys after the latter’s upset win over New Orleans on Thursday night. Despite sitting in second place in the division, the Redskins are currently in the playoffs as a wildcard team. Of the three 6-5 teams in the hunt, they own the tiebreaker over Carolina after a critical 23-17 victory back in Week 6. They also own a tiebreaker over the Seattle Seahawks due to a better record against the NFC.

This is the time of year when teams start making their final pushes for one of the coveted playoff spots. Monday night games have not been kind to the Redskins. This is the time to change that. Division games in December are must-win games if Washington wants to win the division and host a playoff game. With the Cowboys moving to 7-5, this is as ‘must-win’ as a game can get. If the Redskins want to improve to 7-5 on the season and start making that playoff push, here are five keys to victory on Monday night.
