Redskins: Riggo’s Rag Podcast – Reuben Foster, end of season, more
By Ian Cummings
It’s been a while, but the Riggo’s Rag Podcast is back for another episode!
It’s a shame we’ve been unable to meet more often during the season, because there’s been tons to talk about, as is usually the case with the Washington Redskins.
Had we gotten a podcast out two weeks ago, we’d be talking about how the Redskins are on the way to their tenth NFC East title. How Alex Smith‘s efficient offense, combined with a defense playing better than expected, would drive Washington to the playoffs. How maybe, just maybe, the franchise was turning a corner.
Instead, the podcast is out now, and we’re talking about the Reuben Foster situation, the future of a franchise clouded in confusion, and the fate of Jay Gruden, if the Redskins continue this downward trend into an early offseason.
There’s a nice batch of current events and forward thinking in this edition of our podcast. Nathan Britton and Jacob Camenker, the usual crew, gave their thoughts on Washington’s handling of Reuben Foster (some fire takes in there), the team’s outlook for the rest of the season, and ways to win back the doubters in the offseason of 2019. If there’s one category the Redskins never disappoint in, it’s giving the masses something to talk about. Fans have no doubt grown weary of the endless act, however, and two weeks ago, there were legitimate glimpses of better times ahead. But two weeks later, the franchise is back where it started: In the national spotlight for off-the-field conduct, and all but out of the playoff spotlight.
In time, we will see if Washington will flip the script. But for now, be sure to give our latest podcast a listen, and share your thoughts on the contentious issues marring the team in the comments section below. It’s good to be back!
