Buckle up.

Just a week ago, the Washington Redskins were two games ahead in the NFC East, and with three more consecutive wins, they would clinch the division for the first time since 2015.

Now, the Redskins are playing for their playoff hopes on Thursday night, against their arch-nemesis, the Dallas Cowboys, who threaten to take their momentum, and their right to pride, away from them.

On Thanksgiving, the Redskins have the opportunity alone to be thankful for, but not much else. They’re coming off a brutal, last-minute loss against the Texans. They’ve lost their starting quarterback, and half of their starting offensive line. And their once-vaunted defense is in a midseason slump of drastic proportions.

In Week 12, will the Redskins right the ship? Or will they only sink deeper?

The answer lies in a realm unattainable to us now, but by Thursday night, we will know whether the Redskins still have the capacity to compete. Thursday’s game is a crucial one, and these five players need to rise to the occasion.
