The Washington Redskins once again have a lengthy injury report, and their offense will be heavily affected ahead of their Week 11 matchup with the Texans.

The injuries are really starting to pile up across the NFL, and for yet another season, the Redskins are being adversely affected by them. Of course, this is the norm in the NFL, but it just seems that Washington gets tough luck maladies more so than other teams across the league. Either way, there are some players that the team will be without on Sunday, and there are a couple of notable questionable parties as well.

According to the team’s official Twitter, Jamison Crowder, Chris Thompson, and Samaje Perine have all been declared out for this contest. The first two are unsurprising, but the latter-most player is somewhat of a surprise.

Elsewhere,  LT Trent Williams and K Dustin Hopkins are both questionable. And those game-day statuses could have a massive impact on the outcome of this game.

Starting with the players that are out, Crowder hasn’t played since Week 5 while Thompson will be hitting his third-straight absence. The two playmakers have been missed in the offense, and Thompson especially because of his ability to turn short checkdowns into long gains. That said, the team has been able to consistently win without the duo, so that shouldn’t have too much of an adverse impact on their chances to win the game.

As for Perine’s injury, that’s a blow to his chances to get involved in the game plan. He has been serving as the fourth-string RB this year, but he has seen a few carries while Thompson has been out. His injury will render him a non-factor, but more importantly, it will leave the Redskins with only two healthy backs on the roster in Adrian Peterson and Kapri Bibbs.

It will be interesting to see if the ‘Skins elect to sign another back to their roster to provide depth just in case. After all, AP has been a bit banged-up at times this year, so that’s something that the coaching staff should be concerned about. The team did just terminate Mack Brown‘s contract from the practice squad, but perhaps they could consider signing him and adding him to the 53-man roster, just to add extra depth for a week or so. That’s certainly something to watch in the coming days.

As for the questionable players, Williams was declared out earlier in the week, so the change in his status is certainly a positive. The Redskins offensive line has been marred with injuries lately, so getting Williams back would provide a stable anchor and allow Ty Nsekhe to kick inside to guard if needed. All in all, just more depth on that unit would be a huge asset for Jay Gruden’s offense.

Hopkins’ injury is one of the trickiest ones to watch. If he can’t go, the team will have to add another kicker to the squad. They will likely do that on Saturday if Hopkins’ status is really shaky, so that’s a transaction to look for. The team did work out five kickers earlier in the week, so it will likely be a member of that group if Hopkins ends up being out. That said, Hopkins indicated that he was going to “give it a go” so this scenario seems unlikely.
