The Washington Redskins are dealing with injuries ahead of their Week 10 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Here are the latest key updates on all their banged-up players.

At this point last season, the Redskins were using a patchwork lineup on both sides of the ball to try to stay afloat in a playoff race. This situation may not be as dire yet this year, but it is trending towards a worse spot. Many of Washington’s best players are dealing with injuries that could keep them out in Week 10 against the Buccaneers.

One player has already been confirmed out. That would be Redskins RB Chris Thompson, who is still dealing with a rib injury that could sideline him for a fair amount of time. Thompson has been banged-up throughout his career and rib injuries are painful, so the decision to exercise caution with him isn’t much of a surprise.

Elsewhere, the Redskins official Twitter confirmed that three key starters would be questionable for this contest. They are Jamison Crowder, Quinton Dunbar, and Morgan Moses. It seems that all three could be legitimate game-time decisions, so this is certainly something to watch.

Of this group, the most important player is Moses. That may not have normally been the case, but with the Redskins already being down three starters on the offensive line in Trent Williams, Shawn Lauvao, and Brandon Scherff, they can ill-afford to lose Moses. The unit will be patchwork as it is, and if Chase Roullier is the only holdover, things could get rough for Alex Smith and company on Sunday. No matter what, this will be something to watch.

Dunbar is another key cog to this team. He has been their best cornerback throughout the 2018 campaign, but he has dealt with a troublesome shin injury in recent weeks. Should he sit, Greg Stroman and Danny Johnson would see extended action. And against the Buccaneers, who have one of the most dynamic sets of offensive pass-catchers in the league, that could create some trouble, particularly in guarding DeSean Jackson.

Finally, Crowder is an important piece to the bunch, but the team has been able to win without him in recent weeks. Getting him back would undoubtedly provide a little extra boost for the receiving corps — especially with Paul Richardson now out for the season — but he is unlikely to have as significant of an impact as Moses or Dunbar being active.

These players will need to be watched closely ahead of Sunday’s game with the Bucs. If all three are out, it will be very difficult for the ‘Skins to function in key aspects of the game. And on the road, that may sink them as they attempt to get back on track after last week’s loss to the Falcons.
