Redskins vs. Falcons: 5 keys to victory in Washington’s Week 9 matchup

No. 5 – Redskins must continue strong special teams play
One area that so often gets overlooked is special teams. Tress Way has been playing lights out for the Redskins over the last couple weeks, routinely pinning teams back inside their own 20-yard line and getting good hang time as well.
This has not made it easy for opponents, as they have found themselves routinely having to go 80 or more yards for a touchdown. It is incredibly difficult to consistently drive the ball 80 plus yards for a touchdown on a stingy defense as good as the Redskins’ is.
The Redskins’ punt coverage unit has been exceptional as well, bottling up returners. While Dustin Hopkins did miss a kick Sunday, he has been solid all season and has hit clutch kicks beyond 50 yards in three of the last four games. Both Way and Hopkins must have big games against Atlanta, as this should be another close game.
