5. Ty Nsekhe allows zero sacks

Trent Williams, unfortunately, went down with a thumb injury last week. After having surgery, he’s likely out for the next month. That means that Nsekhe will step into the lineup as the team’s starting tackle.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Nsekhe has a decent track record as the starter at left tackle. Everyone knows that Williams is a better player by a lot, but there are many teams across the league that Nsekhe could be a starter on. So, that’s the bright side for Washington.

Of course, Nsekhe is going to be under a microscope in this contest, as this will be his first chance to prove himself as a starter this season. And if he struggles, that could worry fans that the team could regress in the absence of Williams.

That said, Nsekhe should have a chance to allow zero sacks in this game. Both Vic Beasley and Takk McKinley are good edge rushers, but they can be contained. Nsekhe will be motivated to play well and prove his worth, especially given that his contract will be up at the end of the year.

This may not end up happening, but I like Nsekhe’s ability and Alex Smith‘s ability to avoid mistakes, turnovers, and sacks should help him out. For that reason, I’m comfortable picking him to have a big game on Sunday.
