4. Adrian Peterson, Kapri Bibbs combine for 150 scrimmage yards

These two figure to be the big run game weapons for the ‘Skins against the Falcons. Chris Thompson is out with a rib injury, so Bibbs will have a chance to be the top receiving back. It’s unclear exactly what type of role he will play, but it’s a good bet that he will be on the field for third downs.

Meanwhile, Peterson should have a chance to have a solid game. The Falcons don’t have a great run defense, so they should be able to gash them for solid yardage. That said, given the poor pass defense of Atlanta, the play-action game could work well in this affair, so that may limit the overall upside of the running backs.

Still, both Peterson and Bibbs should get touches and a chance to produce. It just might not be the same ground-and-pound style we’ve seen through the first half of the 2018 season. It’s always good to change things up to keep teams off balance, and if Atlanta schemes to limit Peterson, the team will adjust accordingly.

By the end of the game, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this duo combine for 150 scrimmage yards. It’s hard to predict if it will be a run-heavy game script or not, but Peterson should still get his 20 or so touches and notch close to 100 yards on the ground while getting some through the air as well. Bibbs could grab a few passes and be a weapon in the screen game.

These numbers are lower than Washington fans are accustomed to seeing this season, and that’s the “bold” part of this prediction. It will be hard to know exactly what they plan to do because the Falcons have such a weak all-around defense.
