The Redskins are hurting a bit on the offensive side of the ball. In addition to the absence of Jamison Crowder, both Trent Williams and Chris Thompson are also scheduled to miss Sunday’s game with the Falcons.

It’s roughly the mid-point of the NFL season, and that means that most teams across the league have some significant injuries. The Redskins haven’t dealt with nearly as many issues as they did last year, but they still haven’t escaped the wear and tear that is the NFL season.

Ahead of Sunday’s game against the Falcons, the team is going to be without three key offensive players: WR Jamison Crowder, RB Chris Thompson, and LT Trent Williams. The team can survive without them, but it won’t be easy.

Of the group, the biggest loss is Williams. The long-time starter at left tackle is one of the best in the NFL, but injuries have dogged him a bit over the course of the past couple of seasons. Williams is dealing with a thumb injury and it’s unclear exactly how long he will be out.

Thankfully for the Redskins, they have a solid backup in the form of Ty Nsekhe. He performed valiantly in 2016 when Williams was suspended and also did a good job in his stead last year while recovering from an injury. He won’t be the same dominating presence that Williams is, but he should be able to keep Alex Smith clean.

Meanwhile, Thompson is dealing with a rib injury that is going to keep him out for at least this week. Rib injuries are often a pain-tolerance issue, but given that Thompson has proven to be injury prone, it may be in the team’s best interest to hold him out until he is 100 percent. Besides, Kapri Bibbs has proven to be a capable receiving back in his stead, so he can hold down the fort.

Finally, Jamison Crowder has been ruled out for the fourth-straight week. This is hardly a surprise, as he still hasn’t gotten back on the practice field as he deals with an ankle injury. The ‘Skins have been able to win three times in a row without him on the field, so they can get by without him.

Missing three offensive “starters” is usually not a good thing. But, the Redskins have enough depth to offset these losses. Provided that Paul Richardson (questionable) is on the field, the offense should have enough fire-power to score on the Falcons while the Washington defense carries them to victory.
