. Wide Receiver. Dolphins. DeVante Parker. 2. player. 59

DeVante Parker wouldn’t have been an exciting option just a week ago. But after his performance last week, there’s a bit more buzz about him.

Parker went off as a big part of the Dolphins passing attack on Thursday against the Texans. He logged six catches for 134 yards and was a big factor for the offense. He showed off his size, athleticism, and all the other skills that made him a first-round draft pick.

I recently spoke of the possibility of acquiring Parker and said the following of his fit in the receiving corps and what it make take to acquire him.

More from Riggo's Rag

"Parker is a bit more athletic than Doctson and would give the team another threat on the outside. The team is lacking depth at receiver with Jamison Crowder and Paul Richardson dealing with injuries and even though Trey Quinn may be back soon, adding Parker could be worth the risk. At the best, he becomes a solid receiving option on the outside and catches a few TDs for the team. At the worst, he doesn’t really do much and they can part with him after the season.’ The only question about the potential for the Redskins acquiring Parker would be, what price would they pay for him? The Dolphins are rumored to be asking for a third-round pick for him, but that is laughable. He’s not even really playing for them and hasn’t been special, so it seems that the proper price for him would be a late-round pick. If the team could land Parker for a fifth- or sixth-round pick, it could be well worth it."

The Dolphins may not be willing to trade Parker right now solely because of their depth issues at receiver. That said, if they do change their tone, Parker would be a great get for the Redskins. He’s cheap, he’s young, and he has upside. That’s all you can ask for, so to add him as depth would be a good move.
