The Giants have made some moves in the lead-up to this game. One of them was trading their star nose tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison to the Detroit Lions. Without Snacks in the lineup, the Redskins will have a good chance to put up some rushing yards.

That will be music to Adrian Peterson‘s ears. Peterson has had a renaissance in his first season with the ‘Skins, and a lot of the offense has run through him. Against the Giants, he should be the top offensive weapon yet again if he can continue to run the way he has in the first six games of the season.

I named Peterson as one of the Redskins best performers from last week and at the time, I said the following of him.

More from Riggo's Rag

"Peterson was his usual self on Sunday. Well, the Peterson that we’re used to seeing in Redskins wins. AP was able to notch 99 yards on 24 carries, and he had numerous excellent runs. He did well to avoid tacklers and made a few great cutbacks that allowed him to find a lot of space and generate extra yardage. Few backs, if any, have the elusive moves that Peterson put on display on Sunday. The only thing missing from Peterson’s effort was a score. He almost notched one near the goal-line, but his blockers weren’t able to get the job done. Still, Peterson was the engine that helped move the offense. He generated yardage and even though he didn’t score, he had a massive impact on the field position battle. And for that, he deserves praise."

Peterson should have a chance to put up similar numbers in Week 8. The Giants defense isn’t as strong as it once was, and he will certainly be the focal point of the offense. Until he slows down, Peterson will be the top weapon on the Redskins offense, so he will always need to be watched.
