The Giants have been active on the trade market this week, and they dealt starting corner Eli Apple to the Saints ahead of Week 8. With him gone, they have no No. 2 corner and don’t really have a lot of inspiring options.

Antonio Hamilton and B.W. Webb figure to see a fair amount of action for the Giants on Sunday. That has to be something that the Redskins look to take advantage of. Alex Smith hasn’t done a lot with his outside receivers so far, but this is the week for him to get those guys involved.

Of all the receivers, Paul Richardson is probably the one who matters the most this week. He missed last week’s win over the Cowboys with a couple of injuries, but it seems that he might be healthy enough to be in action this weekend for the Giants game.

If Richardson does suit up, it’s possible that he will be covered by Janoris Jenkins. That said, Jenkins hasn’t been as good as normal this year and he is being discussed in trade rumors as well. That could distract him a bit and thanks to Richardson’s speed, he could end up breaking a big play. And if Richardson works on either of the backups…watch out.

It’s also worth watching Richardson just to see how healthy he is. If he’s on the field and less than 100 percent, that could be bad news for his productivity for the rest of the season. So, that will certainly be something that’s important to watch.
