The Washington Redskins are getting ready for a key Week 8 battle with the New York Giants. Here’s a look at the top matchups to watch and a score prediction for the game.

Week 8 is going to be the most important week for the Redskins yet. It feels like I keep saying that, but I really mean it this time.

Coming off a critical win over the Cowboys, the Redskins now sport a 4-2 record. They lead the NFC East by 1.5 games, and with the Cowboys on bye and the Eagles playing a tough Jaguars team in London, the Redskins have a legitimate chance to extend their lead and take control of the division.

The Redskins are on the road in Week 8, but they get to take on a team that has been struggling pretty badly. The Giants (1-6) have endured a bumpy road under new head coach Pat Shurmur, and they are dealing with a fair amount of drama just in general. In short, they’re a rebuilding team — but they still have a quality roster. Taking down the divisional rival won’t be easy, but if the ‘Skins can pull it off, they’ll have a 2-0 record in the division and a 5-2 record overall.

With all that said, we’ll take a deep dive into the game and see which side has an advantage. Here’s a look at the offense and defense matchups and a score prediction for the Redskins vs. Giants in their first meeting of the season.
