The Washington Redskins notched a critical home victory over the Cowboys on Sunday afternoon. Here’s a look at the players that gave them the opportunity to grab the key win.

Pride. Worry. Ecstasy. All of these emotions were felt during the course of the Redskins win over the Cowboys in Week 7. Thanks to a stellar defensive effort, the Redskins were able to knock off their long-time divisional rival and string together back-to-back wins for the first time this season. They now have a winning record at 4-2, but that’s not even the best part of the victory.

By dispatching the Cowboys, the Redskins gave themselves a solid lead in the NFC East. The Eagles fell in stunning fashion to the Panthers after holding a 17-point lead, so the ‘Skins now hold a 1.5 game lead in the division. Yes, it’s still very early, but the fact that Washington is in control right now is great news for the squad. That’s all you can ask for as the midpoint of the season approaches.

The win over the Cowboys wasn’t necessarily pretty. The ‘Skins never really did much on offense and they didn’t pull away at any point. And yes, they may have been helped at the end by a strange penalty and a missed field goal that could have forced overtime. But still, a win is a win, and the Redskins definitely earned this one.

En route to the win, the Redskins got some excellent efforts out of their star players. These were the guys that stood out the most to us and deserve a lot of praise for their performance in what might be the biggest win of the team’s season so far.
