The Redskins are going to be without one of their key receivers in Week 7, and they may also be without their other top weapon. Here’s the latest on Jamison Crowder, Paul Richardson, and the other injured Redskins.

The Redskins are dealing with more key injuries as the seventh week of the NFL season approaches. While some players were expected to miss time, there are a handful of others that have been slapped with the questionable tag. And notably, the offense appears to be in tough shape.

At receiver, the team is looking especially thin with Jamison Crowder already declared out against Dallas. Crowder hasn’t done a lot this season, but he’s a functional slot weapon and the Redskins have had success in the past using him and Jordan Reed over the middle of the field. That is no longer an option, so Maurice Harris may have to step into that role. While he’s a fine replacement, he just doesn’t have the same elusive route-running ability as Crowder does.

At the same position, big-time free agent acquisition Paul Richardson is being listed as doubtful for the game. Richardson has grinded through injuries throughout the season, and it seems that shoulder and knee issues have finally caught up to him.

With Richardson likely to miss the game, the Redskins will be very thin at receiver, and Josh Doctson will be their de facto No. 1 option. For that reason, expect a lot of two tight end sets featuring Reed and Vernon Davis, as the other receivers on the Redskins roster just don’t pose a major threat to the strong Cowboys secondary.

At running back, Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson are both listed as questionable. Peterson is probably going to play as he continues to fight through injuries to serve as the lead back. Thompson, meanwhile, is a bit more of a question mark after missing last week’s game. However, he was trending in the right direction during practice this week, and the absence of Crowder and potentially Richardson would make him a key part of the passing offense. That may do enough to convince him to play even if he’s 80 percent or so.

The other big injury to note is Quinton Dunbar. The team’s top corner is listed as questionable, but he seems likely to suit up. Still, if he doesn’t, that likely means that Greg Stroman or Adonis Alexander would get the start outside, as Fabian Moreau is needed to guard Cowboys slot-man Cole Beasley, who is arguably their best player. Dunbar being inactive seems like a long-shot though, so hopefully, he’ll be okay.
