The Washington Redskins are getting ready for a key Week 6 battle with the Carolina Panthers. Here are the matchups to watch and a score prediction for the game.

Last week was one of the most deflating Redskins losses of the Jay Gruden tenure. Before that game, there had been bad losses in crucial games, and even just dud performances. But the manner in which the team was throttled by the Saints in the Superdome was inexcusable. Now, the team will be back to the drawing board on a short week, and they will face a tough opponent.

The Panthers enter Week 6 fighting for playoff position in the loaded NFC. They are currently 3-1, but they sit behind the Saints in the NFC South standings. With the Saints on bye, the Panthers could tie for first place with a victory in Washington, and there’s no doubt that will be on the mind of Luke Kuechly and the other Panthers stars come Sunday.

As for the Redskins, they are looking for a bounce-back themselves. Sitting at 2-2, they are somehow still in first place in the NFC East, but they have to get back on track after being mauled by the Saints. The Panthers are a good team, but with the ‘Skins being the home team, they should have a chance to emerge victorious.

A lot is riding on this game. Another week in first place. A winning record. Pride. The Redskins will have to make sure they come ready to play. Here’s a look at the top matchups to watch and a score prediction in our in-depth preview of Redskins vs. Panthers in NFL Week 6.
