It’s been a while, but we’re back on the Riggo’s Rag Podcast to talk all things Redskins!

After an early bye week, the Washington Redskins are gearing up to face off against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football. If things go their way, the Redskins can use a win to become the sole owners of the NFC East lead for a second straight week.

If not? Well, then it’s back to the drawing board.

The Saints are easily the toughest test of the season thus far for the Redskins. On offense, the Saints boast an attack headed by future Hall of Famer Drew Brees, with dynamic playmakers such as Mark Ingram, Alvin Kamara, and Michael Thomas waiting in the wings.

On defense, the Saints are less well-rounded; their run defense has been stout so far this year, with 2016 first-round pick Sheldon Rankins leading the way. Their pass defense, however, has been shaky. Marshon Lattimore and P.J. Williams are both undergoing sophomore slumps, Ken Crawley is allowing a perfect passer rating, and Patrick Robinson is out for the year. It’s safe to say the Saints’ secondary is their biggest weakness, and the Redskins will have to try to exploit that on Monday.

That said, the Redskins will have to bring some new schemes into the fold if Adrian Peterson can’t get going. Josh Doctson’s situation is very much up in the air, and the options behind him at wide receiver aren’t plentiful. Behind Paul Richardson and Jamison Crowder, Maurice Harris, Brian Quick, and Michael Floyd are the team’s final three receivers. If the Saints’ offense holds steady against Washington’s energized defense, then Alex Smith will have to give some chances to receivers he might not trust yet.

What are the keys to victory for the Redskins against the Saints? What might the final score be? And should fans be concerned about Josh Doctson’s future with the team? We cover all that, and more, in our latest episode of the Riggo’s Rag Podcast. You can listen by clicking the play button below!
