Washington Redskins post-bye week season record prediction
By Ian Cummings
Week 17 – Redskins vs. Eagles
This is a heart breaker, but the Redskins aren’t ready to sweep the Eagles yet.
Even with the Eagles’ weaknesses in the secondary, they’re still one of the top five teams in the NFL, talent-wise, and while we assumed the Eagles would be resting their starters in Week 17 in the offseason, that assumption seems premature after Philadelphia’s 2-2 start.
Both the Eagles and Redskins will be playing for the playoffs in Week 17, with the game going down to the wire. In their only overtime contest of the season, the Redskins will lose at the hands of Carson Wentz and Co. Jay Gruden will have done enough to earn himself a year with a healthy Derrius Guice. And the process will start over in a painfully familiar way.
Final Score: WAS 26, PHI 32 OT
Record: 9-7
