Week 16 – Redskins at Titans

The Titans are a weird team.

The defense is good. We know that. But the progression of Marcus Mariota has been anything but a linear path. In 2016, he had a stellar year, eclipsing 25 touchdowns while throwing less than ten picks. In 2017, he threw 13 touchdowns and 15 picks. And now, in just three games, we’ve seen the good, bad, and the uncertain aspects of Mariota’s game.

Matt LaFleur’s influence hasn’t appeared to latch on just yet, and despite the dearth of talent that the Titans possess, it’s hard to commit to the notion that it will all fall into place under first-year head coach Mike Vrabel.

The Redskins are similar to the Titans, in the sense that they have a considerable amount of talent, but have yet to put it all together on a consistent basis. This game will be a close one, but the Redskins defense should be able to restrain Mariota, who hasn’t proven himself to be the game changer he was drafted to be.

Final Score: WAS 23, TEN 17

Record: 9-6
