3. Jordan Reed totals over 100 receiving yards, scores TD

One of the Redskins receiving weapons eventually has to get going. Chris Thompson has been the team’s leading receiver to date, and that will need to change if they want their offense to click.

On Sunday, Jordan Reed and Jamison Crowder are the guys to watch over the middle of the field, but if I had to pick one that could have a great game, it would be Reed. The Packers have good play at the safety position, but their linebackers aren’t quite as strong in coverage, so Reed could find some open space and put up solid numbers.

Alex Smith has loved throwing to tight ends during his career as evidenced by his strong rapport with Vernon Davis in San Francisco and Travis Kelce in Kansas City. Reed has just as much talent as those two did in their primes, so there’s a good chance that he will put up some great games at some point in 2018. And against the Packers with the Redskins offense looking for a spark, this could be his chance.

Reed should be one of the top targets for Smith this week. After all, he is second on the team in targets, catches, and yardage behind only the aforementioned Thompson who serves as the top check-down option for Smith. If the team looks to stretch the field a bit more and create some chunk plays, they may look to do it through Reed.

If Reed tops 100 yards this week and scores, that would be a huge win for him. He has the infrastructure built that should afford him at least an opportunity to put up this type of stat line in Week 3, especially if the ‘Skins are playing catch-up at any point. Reed should be the team’s top receiver, so definitely keep an eye on him.
