5. Mason Foster records 10-plus tackles

The Redskins will need some of their better tacklers to step up in Week 3. Against the Packers offense, limiting the opportunities to run and stopping receivers right when they catch the ball will be critical to slowing the Packers offense. And to do that, the team will need their middle linebackers to show up.

Zach Brown has been dealing with a minor injury this week, but right now, he is expected to play. Still, he may need Mason Foster to help pick up the slack a bit, and as a result, this could be a big game for Foster.

Foster has been a steady presence in the middle of the Redskins defense since he was signed by the squad. In two games this season, Foster is leading the team with 17 combined tackles and that number should only continue to go up, as his instincts will give him a chance to be a playmaker.

If the Packers try to work the middle of the field, Foster could be involved in a lot of stops. HIm reaching double-digit tackles isn’t out of the question, and it really seems likely that someone of the team will do it. Foster could have a big impact and help to force the Packers to punt or settle for field goals if he can continue to tackle well.

Nothing is guaranteed, but seeing Foster put up 10-plus tackles seems like a solid bet. It’s still a bit of a bold gamble, considering that he’s currently averaging 8.5 tackles per game, but he should be an impact player nonetheless.
