Redskins vs. Packers: Week 3 offense and defense matchups, score prediction
The Washington Redskins are coming off a disappointing loss in Week 2. For Week 3, things don’t get easier as the team will now take on the Green Bay Packers as they fight for a winning record ahead of their bye.
Despair. That’s what the post-Week 2 mood was in Washington. In a game that the team should have won, they fell flat on their face. They came up short. It was more of the same. It was easy to see a potential dud or trap game coming, but it was still hard to believe that the dominant team that was on the field in the opener could lose so badly at home against an inferior Colts team.
Moving forward, the Redskins have to try and right the ship. And it won’t be easy. Two of the easier matchups of their season are already past, and their next chance to get back above .500 comes in Week 3. The opponent is a difficult one: the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers sport a 1-0-1 record but almost were able to dispatch the Vikings in Week 2. Of course, they almost lost as well. No matter how you look at it, the team has one of the stronger offenses in the league and if it wasn’t for a major injury concern, they would be considered a potential Super Bowl contender. They still may be, but we’re just waiting another week or two before officially giving them that distinction.
In Week 3, the Redskins are going to have to bring their A-game. Anything short of that will lead them to a second consecutive loss going into the bye week. And while it’s too early in the season to dub anything a “must-win game,” the Redskins at least have to show up against the Packers.
Here are the matchups to watch for this week, and also a score prediction for the contest.
