The Washington Redskins fell in embarrassing fashion during their home opener to the Indianapolis Colts. These players underperformed in that game and were part of the reason for the collapse.

After the Week 1 win over the Cardinals, the Redskins fan base felt elation. It seemed like their team was finally rising up in the NFC and that they were en route to establishing themselves as Wild Card contenders. After all, they were able to completely dominate the Cardinals. So, why not have optimism?

Well, in the NFL, optimism can be fleeting. And that’s especially true of Week 1 performances. It’s hard to tell whether or not any team is a legitimate contender or pretender after one week. And Week 2 gave the Redskins fans a dose of reality they didn’t want to see.

The Colts came into FedEx Field and completely dominated the Redskins. Washington managed no TDs in the 21-9 route, and their players just didn’t have enough to take down the upstart, young Colts team. Considering that the Redskins had the advantage on paper, this was a massive disappointment.

While the team is to blame for the loss, there are also a few aspects that deserve particular blame. In this contest in particular, the offense performed poorly. The defense had some issues, but holding the Colts to 21 points afforded the team an opportunity to outscore them. But the offense just couldn’t capitalize.

With all that said, it’s time to look at the top duds from Sunday’s performance. And given the way that the game went, it’s no surprise that they all fall on the offensive side of the ball.
