Fantasy Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Week 2: Redskins vs Colts
Chris Thompson: Start
Probably the biggest no-brainer at this point is having Thompson as a worst-case weekly flex play. He tallied 11 touches in Week 1 which resulted in 65 ground yards and another 63 in the air with a score. Thompson is averaging 13 yards per carry as Washington’s change of pace back. He is also logging 10 yards per catch and has quickly become a favorite target of Alex Smith.
Thompson led the team with six catches in Week 1 and should see another heavy workload with Smith’s check down style of play and starter Adrian Peterson not being a strong receiving option out of the backfield. Thompson will have triple digits again, and should bring another score for fantasy owners.

The offense for Indy starts and ends with Andrew Luck’s arm. Jordan Wilkins got the start last week and is in line to be the lead back this Sunday. Wilkins rushed 14 times for 40 yards and caught three passes in the team’s loss to Cincinnati. He gets another tough matchup against a Redskins front that held David Johnson to 37 yards on the ground.
Insert Marlon Mack. The second-year back will likely make his season debut Sunday and will carve into Wilkins’ touches. Mack who showed some promise in his limited time last season and he will be leaned on to help keep the offense afloat this season in Indy. That said, he probably won’t have a great warm-up game against Washington. The duo will have a big timeshare and may struggle to get it going with the teams starting tackles out due to injury. If you own Wilkins or Mack this is not the week to gamble on them in your lineup.
Risk Play: Adrian Peterson
Peterson shouldn’t be your top option at the position but if you need a high-risk, high-reward flex play, Peterson is your guy. He has a good matchup against the Colts that let Joe Mixon run wild last week. The former MVP showed he had some left in the tank against the Cardinals and could have similar success this week against the Colts, who allowed 5.1 ypc to the Bengals. Peterson won’t give you 70 yards on two receptions again, so in PPR formats there could be better options. But, it is realistic that Peterson hits triple digits on the ground and sneaks in for a pair of touchdowns in what should be a high scoring day for Washington.
