The Washington Redskins are taking on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2 of the 2018 NFL season. Here’s a look at the players to watch on both sides of the ball.

After dominating the Arizona Cardinals in the first week of the season, the Redskins will travel back east for their home opener against the Colts. Sporting a 1-0 record, the team has an opportunity to jump out to a quick start — a necessity in what is sure to be a tough NFC.

Their opponent is one that shouldn’t give them a lot of trouble. While the Colts have a strong offense led by Andrew Luck, their defense is devoid of talent. It profiles as one of the weakest in the league and while they may have found some playmakers in recent draft classes and on the free agent market, it simply isn’t enough to compete with offenses that have a plethora of weapons.

Oh yeah, it’s also worth noting that Frank Reich is coaching just his second contest as the leader of the team. Coming off a loss to the Bengals and hitting the road may be tough for the first-year head coach, so the team might not be quite ready to steal a game on the road.

Still, while things may look rosy for Washington, it’s going to be important that the team puts forth their best effort. This can’t be a “trap game” ahead of a crucial Week 3 battle with the Green Bay Packers. The Redskins need to capitalize on this opportunity to start strong, something that they haven’t done consistently during the Jay Gruden era.

With all that said, they are going to need some key players to step up if they want to emerge victorious. Here are the five Redskins to watch in Week 2 against the Colts.
