The Washington Redskins are taking on the Arizona Cardinals in the first week of the NFL season. Discuss the game here and ask questions that may be featured in our next Redskins mailbag.
It’s finally here. Gameday. The Redskins game is today, and the squad will see their first action of the 2018 season. They are taking on the Arizona Cardinals in a road meeting. While the Redskins are better than the Cardinals on paper, this could still be a difficult game.
Steve Wilks is coaching his first game with the Cardinals. Sam Bradford is the new quarterback. They have a squad filled with veterans who know how to play. The question is, will they be able to mesh?
As for the Redskins, they too are bringing in a new quarterback in Alex Smith. He will have his first chance to start, and that will be huge for the squad. If he can avoid turnovers in the opener, he will have a very good chance to lead the team to an opening day victory, which is something that hasn’t happened during the Jay Gruden era in Washington.
There’s a lot to watch in this game. There are players that could break out. Some crazy things could happen, and one of the biggest wild cards of the whole contest is Adrian Peterson. Truly, we don’t know how the Redskins are going to look yet. We only saw a limited sample size of their starters in the preseason, so this outing will really give fans and analysts alike a look at exactly how the team will fare and whether or not they will be playoff contenders.
Throughout the contest, feel free to interact in the comments section of this article. You can post your thoughts, questions, or just general comments about the team throughout the day. We’ll also be live tweeting the game as well, so you can interact with us there, @RiggosRag, as well.
With that, the floor is yours. Enjoy the game and hail to the Redskins!
