Redskins vs. Ravens: Offense and defense matchups, score prediction
Score prediction
Can anyone really say what will happen this week? The answer is a resounding no. There’s absolutely no way which team’s third-string players will ball out — or at least do enough to sneak by with a victory.
What is known is that the Ravens are likely to have superior quarterback play in this contest. Lamar Jackson and Robert Griffin III seem likely to see extra time this week as they respectively look to prove themselves and, in RG3’s case, try to make the roster. Even fourth-stringer Josh Woodrum can get the job done in the preseason, so the Ravens have a significant advantage over the Kevin Hogan/Connor Jessop combination.
The Ravens also have a lot of depth across their roster, and the back end of their roster is filled with low-round draft picks fighting for roster spots. The defense should have a chance to shut down Hogan and company fairly easily.
It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see the Redskins close the preseason with a loss heading into Week 1. And with the starters seeing little to no action, this would be about as meaningless a loss as there comes.
