2. RB Kapri Bibbs

I mentioned Rob Kelley as a potential cut earlier in this list, and while he may get cut, I think that Bibbs actually might be closer to the roster bubble than Kelley.

Bibbs has looked good at times this preseason, and he has particularly been successful on screen passes. He has great patience combined with burst and elusive ability, and that makes him an ideal pass-catching back for the NFL.

However, Bibbs is simply facing a roster crunch at the RB position. Many believe that the addition of AP has made Kelley expendable, but Gruden still loves him and he has seen action over Bibbs. And if the Redskins were to keep Kelley, it seems that Bibbs would be the man without a place, unless the team made the asinine decision to cut Samaje Perine, which would certainly be a blunder.

Even though Bibbs plays a different role and the Redskins might need a backup receiving back, the team may be forced to let him go. Unless Gruden decides that Peterson and Perine are significantly better than Kelley, it is going to be hard for Bibbs to make the roster. He will have a good chance to prove himself in the final preseason game, but at this point, nothing is guaranteed for him.

No matter what, Gruden is going to be facing a dilemma at running back. Unless they decide to keep five players, they are either going to let a talented player walk, roll without a backup receiving back even though Thompson won’t be 100 percent healthy until November, or Gruden will have to let one of his favorites, Kelley, walk. This is certainly the position to watch leading up to cut day.
