3. Get pressure on Case Keenum

The Redskins have a lot of talent on their defensive line. They’re going to have to use it properly if they want to win games this year.

With Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen, Matt Ioannidis, Ryan Kerrigan, Preston Smith, and many others set to contribute in the pass rushing department, the Redskins could end up topping 50 sacks just a year after totaling 41. They appear to have one of the better defensive lines in the league, and they need to continue to build rhythm heading into the season.

Last season, Case Keenum was used to having shoddy protection in Minnesota, and it seems that his move to Denver has upgraded his offensive line. That said, the Broncos haven’t played meaningful action against a team with a line quite like the Skins, so the team might end up struggling a bit early as they adapt to constant pressure being placed on Keenum.

More from Commanders News

If the Redskins can pressure Keenum early and often, they will have a good chance to perform well in this game. Getting pressure can help to get offensive units out of sync, and given that Keenum is in just his first season with the Broncos, he could struggle to get out of a funk if he gets into one.

Greg Manusky seems likely to dial up a lot of pressure in this contest as he tests what the Redskins will be capable of handling prior to Week 1. It will be interesting to see exactly how they fare, but if they can continuously pressure Keenum they should have a great chance to emerge victorious in this contest.
