The Washington Redskins are taking on the New England Patriots this Thursday. Here are the position battles to watch in the first preseason clash.

The preseason is almost here. I know, it’s not the regular season, but as I’ve been saying all week, at least it’s something. The Redskins will see their first action since Week 17 of the 2017 season, and their new crop of talent will be in action.

The Patriots are an interesting opponent, given that they will be taking on Bill Belichick. While Belichick probably doesn’t care much about the outcome of preseason games, he’s still one of the best coaches in NFL history, and he will test Jay Gruden and the Redskins staff.

Of course, this game will also be big for determining some key position battles for the Redskins. These will need to be solved in the near future, and here’s a look at the five best battles to watch in the first week of the preseason.
