In just three days, the Redskins will travel to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots, in what will be the inaugural preseason game of 2018.

With the dawning of each new NFL season comes a wash of storylines to follow. The Washington Redskins have no shortage of such storylines in 2018. The team in mired in intrigue, and if things fall their way, they could be eyeing their first playoff berth since 2015.

At the same time, however, there are questions on the roster that remain to be answered in their entirety. How deep will the offense be? Can Shawn Lauvao stay healthy and reaffirm the team’s belief in him? Who will start at cornerback opposite highly-priced Josh Norman?

Those questions will be answered in time. But the Redskins have no choice other than to go game by game. And their first game is this week, on Thursday, against Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.

It’s only preseason, but this matchup will give the Redskins an opportunity to organize cluttered positions on the depth chart. The team’s first unofficial depth chart was released earlier today, and it’s clear that at some positions (Running back, for example), the Redskins are waiting until after preseason to make any major changes.

So what kinds of changes might we see when the game action begins? I was joined on the podcast by the usual crew to discuss just that. We went over positions of turmoil on both the offense and defense, and at the very end, we gave our score predictions for the game. You can listen by clicking the link below!

One preseason sleeper mentioned, Alex McCalister, was waived earlier today. But there are still plenty of players ready to make some noise and prove themselves on a bigger stage. Be sure to stay with us throughout the week as the game grows closer. Football is almost back!
