Los Angeles ChargersNFL

Were it not for a massive wave of injuries, similar to that which the Washington Redskins’ suffered, the Los Angeles Chargers could have easily won the AFC West in 2017. They nearly did so anyway.

The Chargers are a talented NFL team, on both sides of the ball, and in 2017, they showed resilience under Anthony Lynn. In 2018, the Chargers aren’t likely to get similar bad luck with injuries, and after an offseason which saw them add Derwin James to an already stacked defense, the Chargers are gearing up to compete.

There isn’t a glaring weakness on the Chargers roster. Their depth in the trenches is superb on both sides of the ball, and their offensive line is particularly solid, especially if Forrest Lamp gets back to one-hundred percent. The defense is packed full with playmakers, incluindg Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram, Jatavis Brown, Casey Hayward, Desmond King, and Jason Verrett.

This roster is shaping up to be one of the strongest Phillip Rivers has had, and in a year where the Chiefs, Raiders, and Broncos are all facing changes that could hinder their production, the Chargers could be the team to break away in the AFC West.
