The Jaguars could use an upgrade at tight end. They have been vigilant in adding quality options in free agency including Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Niles Paul. Still, they could use a true threat at

the position and they may opt to get Hayden Hurst in the first round.

Hurst had a really good career at South Carolina despite being a raw player. He played minor league baseball after graduating high school, and then he proceeded to join the Gamecocks at a later age. Hurst still put up some good numbers, and he was able to show that he is probably the best tight end in this class.

Hurst has a nice frame and good receiving ability, but he does a lot as a blocker as well. Considering that this tight end class is a bit lacking in terms of well-rounded prospects, the value of Hurst could rise in the lead up to the draft. He represents a plug-and-play starter and could be a quality pro.

If Hurst doesn’t go here, he will probably be a second round pick. But, the Jaguars appear to like him as they recently had him visit, and they could use another weapon to add to their improving offense. So, Hurst makes a lot of sense for the Jags as they try to get to a Super Bowl.
