NFL Mock Draft 7.5: Round 6 of the 2018 NFL Draft
Picks 195-198
195. Cincinnati Bengals (via BUF): TE Chris Herndon, Miami
The Bengals made a nice, buy-low move by bringing Tyler Eifert back on a one-year deal. Still, the team can’t rely on him to stay healthy and they could use some more depth behind Tyler Kroft. Chris Herndon is a solid looking reserve option for the NFL level and he has been a very steady player. Herndon will be a blocker with decent receiving ability, and that would be ideal for the Bengals.
196. Oakland Raiders (via CLE and KC): LB Matthew Thomas, Florida State
The Raiders could use another linebacker for their defense and they should have interest in Matthew Thomas. Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.com has Thomas pegged as a Round 4-6 prospect and said the following of his abilities.

"Thomas is a fast and athletic linebacker who has a good skill set, but teams evaluators have said they are grading Thomas on the third day of the 2018 NFL Draft because of a lack of instincts and awareness. In 2017, Thomas totaled 85 tackles with two passes batted, two sacks and an interception. The senior has a good athletic skill set and probably could help himself in pre-draft workouts, but his 2017 tape didn’t impress evaluators. He had another year of eligibility, but decided to enter the 2018 NFL Draft."
Historically, the Raiders have loved athleticism in prospects, though that was under the late, great Al Davis. Still, Thomas fills a need and is one of the best players on the board. So, adding him here makes a lot of sense.
197. Los Angeles Rams: WR Daurice Fountain, Northern Iowa
Sammy Watkins is going to be playing for the Kansas City Chiefs next year. The Rams don’t need to replace him as a starter, because they have some quality options on the roster, but they still need to do something to address depth at the position. Daurice Fountain would be a high upside option.
Fountain was phenomenal at the East-West Shrine game and he was far and away the best receiver on the field. Fountain has good size and athleticism, and he could end up offering some of the same abilities that Watkins gave the Rams. At the worst, he would be a good No. 4 option with the Rams so he makes sense here.
198. Carolina Panthers: C Tony Adams, NC State
Ryan Kalil may not be around much longer. While his brother Matt hasn’t played well at left tackle, there aren’t a lot of solid tackles left on the board. So, the center position will get the attention. Tony Adams has starting potential for the future, so bringing him in as a backup to Ryan Kalil makes a lot of sense.
