NFL Mock Draft 7.5: Round 6 of the 2018 NFL Draft
Picks 183-186
183. Seattle Seahawks (via OAK): TE Jordan Akins, UCF
Jimmy Graham and Luke Willson both left the Seahawks this year along with receiver Paul Richardson. While the team signed Ed Dickson to the team, they need to add a potential receiving tight end to their team. Jordan Akins could fill that role perfectly, and he would be a solid add at this point. Akins was a part of the undefeated UCF offense, and he figures to be a good role player in the NFL.
184. New Orleans Saints (via MIA): DT Justin Jones, NC State
This could be a steal. Justin Jones is a talented defensive tackle, but he slips deep into this mock. He could probably be an early Day 3 pick, so getting him in Round 6 would be a huge get for the Saints, who could use more depth on their defensive line.
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein actually thinks that Jones’ proper value in in Round 6, and he said the following of Jones as a player.
"Jones excelled on an ultra-talented Wolfpack defensive line in 2017, piling up 34 stops, 8.5 for loss, and 2.5 sacks in 13 starts with fellow seniors Bradley Chubb, B.J. Hill, and Kentavius Street. He received honorable mention All-ACC recognition as a 13-game starter, making 43 tackles, 6.5 for loss, and three sacks. Jones is a short but active, quick, and strong interior presence with foot quickness that he flashed in 2015 when he started three of 13 games played that year (29 tackles, 6.5 for loss, two sacks.) The four-star recruit earned playing time in 10 games as a true freshman and was credited with 11 tackles that season."
The Saints would be happy to land a player like Jones, and he could do well next to Sheldon Rankins and Cameron Jordan.

With the First Pick
185. Pittsburgh Steelers (via SF): RB Chase Edmunds, Fordham
The Steelers are going to have to sign Le’Veon Bell to a long-term extension at some point in the near future. Bell is one of the best running backs in the NFL, and he is critical to the success of the team’s offense. If he doesn’t re-sign, James Conner will get a chance to hold down a starting job, but the team would need an elite pass catcher to pair with him.
Chase Edmunds profiles as just that. Edmunds had a nice career at Fordham, and though he is an undersized back at 5-foot-9, he has excellent route running abilities. He put on a nice display at the Combine, and should be a Chris Thompson type player at the next level. Edmunds fits the mold of the modern receiving back, so landing him here would be a major get for the Steelers.
186. Washington Redskins: G Sam Jones, Arizona State
At this stage in the draft, the biggest need left on the Redskins roster is the hole at left guard. Spencer Long signed with the New York Jets and Shawn Lauvao doesn’t seem likely to return to the team. The team has Chase Roullier to play center, but they don’t really have a quality option to play left guard.
In Round 6, the options are a bit sparse, but there are still a couple of potential quality players. Among them is Sam Jones. The Arizona State product declared for the draft a year early, but he probably isn’t quite ready for the NFL. He could stand to add some strength to his 6-foot-5 frame, though he is 305 pounds already. Jones has great athletic ability and could be a very good pulling guard.
With the Redskins, Jones would have a shot at winning the starting job. Bill Callahan will have a chance to develop him into a quality starter. And at the very least, Jones would probably be an upgrade over Lauvao as a starter, since he is young and has some upside left.
