13. . Linebacker. Alabama. Rashaan Evans. 17. player

The Los Angeles Chargers are in desperate need of depth in the linebacking core, and with one of the best linebackers in the NFL Draft available at No. 17, it would be egregious to pick anyone other than Alabama’s Rashaan Evans.

Evans, 6-foot-3, 234, has great size to man the middle. He has above-average height, but he’s not wiry like Tremaine Edmunds. He’s stocky, and with every hit, he brings all 234 pounds with him. Evans is incredibly explosive, and he steadily improved throughout his collegiate career.

The Chargers have a tentative starter in place in Denzel Perryman, but they could do well to add another solid playmaker in the middle. With Rashaan Evans providing both depth and eventual Pro Bowl potential, Gus Bradley can ensure that his defense remains respectable if injuries hit again, like they have in the past.
