Redskins WR Terrelle Pryor drawing interest from Seattle, Cleveland
By Ian Cummings
Former Washington Redskins wide receiver Terrelle Pryor is drawing interest from several teams on the market, now that the top wide receivers have thinned out.
After accruing 1,004 yards and four touchdowns on 77 receptions in Cleveland in 2016, hopes were high that Terrelle Pryor would finally break out in Washington, with Jay Gruden’s offensive scheme and the talent around him serving as benefits.
The Terrelle Pryor experiment never caught traction, however. In his only year with the burgundy and gold, Pryor was the epitome of a free agency bust. There were some big plays, none bigger than his long touchdown catch against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4.
But for every big play, there were more disappointments. Pryor struggled with consistency catching the football (although he never drops it on his Instagram videos), and he and Kirk Cousins never seemed to be on the same page. Now both are gone. One received a massive contract earlier this week. And the other will soon get a chance to prove himself somewhere else.
Before free agency, there was a sense that the Washington Redskins could bring Pryor, who turns 29 later this year, back again for another prove-it year. After a befuddled season in which Pryor caught a mere 20 passes for 240 yards and a touchdown before being sidelined by a lingering injury, Pryor’s value was certain to be far lower than it was when he signed a one-year, $8 million deal.
The Washington Redskins, however, have made it clear that they are interested in anyone but Pryor. They signed Paul Richardson to a five-year, $40 million deal earlier in the week, and a couple days afterward, they re-signed veteran receiver Brian Quick, somewhat solidifying their receiving core, and affirming the notion that they do not need, nor want, Pryor back.
A breakup is inevitable at this point, and now that the market is slowly getting smaller, Pryor is attracting some interest. He has a visit with the Seattle Seahawks in the works, and there are reports, per Kyle Newport of Bleacher Report, that Pryor has suitors in Cleveland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles as well.

The Washington Redskins will ultimately let Pryor go without protest. How he performs with his next team will be telling. Was his year with the Washington Redskins an anomaly? Or are his days as a productive receiver over, quicker than they began?
